These terms apply when you use lastingcontent.com, including its guides, tools and the AI crawler directory. “We”, “us” and “our” mean the business that runs this site. By using the site, you accept these terms. This version is effective September 27, 2026.

What Lasting Content is, and what it is not

Lasting Content is an independent publication about keeping blog and content libraries useful after AI search: which pages to keep, cut, merge or refresh, and how crawlers and AI assistants treat them. It is not an SEO agency, and we do not audit sites, look inside your Search Console or analytics, or act for you with any search engine or AI company.

No promise of rankings or traffic

Search engines and AI assistants decide rankings, citations and crawling on their own, and they change how they work without notice. Our guides describe methods, checks and primary sources as of the date each guide shows. They do not guarantee rankings, traffic, citations or any other result, and they are not legal advice about copyright, licensing or blocking crawlers. Test a change on your own site before you rely on it.

Tools

Each tool explains its method on its page. The robots.txt tester applies the matching rules it describes to the file you paste; it is not a copy of any crawler’s own parser. The llms.txt validator checks a file against the published format, not against how any AI system uses it. The click drop analyzer works only from the export you paste. The AI crawler IP verifier compares an address with the operator’s published IP list and DNS records at the moment you run it; a pass is evidence, not a security guarantee, and operators change their lists.

The tools and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. You are responsible for the robots.txt rules, firewall settings and other changes you make on your own site.

The crawler directory data

You may reuse the crawler directory data published at /bots, including the JSON and CSV files, in your own work, including commercial work, if you credit Lasting Content and link to lastingcontent.com/bots. Each record shows the operator source it came from and the date it was checked; check the operator’s current documentation before you block or allow a crawler on the strength of a record.

Independence

No search engine, AI company or tool vendor pays us to be covered, ranked or left out. We do not use affiliate links, publish sponsored content or carry advertising. Company, product and crawler names on this site belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Naming a company does not mean that it endorses us or that we are connected with it.

Using the site

You may read, print and share pages, and use the worksheets and tool results in your own work, including for clients. You may quote short passages if you link to the page you quote. Please do not:

• copy or republish whole guides or substantial parts of the site, or present our work as your own;
• scrape or request pages, or call the crawler verifier, at a rate that slows the site for others;
• try to get into the private parts of the site, such as the dashboard, or interfere with the site’s security;
• use the site to break the law or to harm other people.

The text, tools, illustrations and design of Lasting Content belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us.

Links to other websites

Guides and the crawler directory link to search engines, AI companies and other sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Limitation of liability

Lasting Content is free to use. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, such as lost traffic, lost rankings, a blocked crawler or lost revenue, arising from your use of the site, its tools or its data. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to US$100. Nothing in these terms limits any liability or consumer right that the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes to the site and these terms

We may change, add or remove guides, tools and data at any time. When we change these terms, we update this page and its effective date. The version on this page when you use the site applies to that use.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. If you have a complaint, write to us first and we will try to settle it within 30 days. You can always use the small claims court where you live.
